One of the world’s largest Applestores is opening at the landmark Grand Central Terminal.

The 23,000-square-foot (2,140-square-meter) personal electronics business will start selling to the public on Friday.

The owner of the space, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, which runs the city’s bus and subway system, says Apple Inc is paying $180 per square foot for its lease – slightly less than the $200-per-square-foot top rate at the century-old Manhattan train hub.

Google expects big on mobile internet in India

Internet giant Google expects India’s internet growth to be driven by mobile users, predicting that they will form the majority of new internet users in the country as low-priced smartphones become available.

Korean auto major Hyundai Motor Co has launched entry level compact car ‘Eon’ that has been developed especially for the Indian market, at an introductory cost of between Rs 2.69 lakh and Rs 3.71 lakh The company, which operates through wholly owned subsidiary Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL), discribes car has beenplanned designed and developed keeping Indian consumers in mind. “Eon has been specifically built keeping in mind the varied Indian conditions and special requirements of the customers here. It will further expand our market share in the fast-growing small car segment in the Indian market,” HMIL Managing Director and CEO H W Park said. The Eon’s competer is Maruti Suzuki India’s best selling model Alto, is powered by a 814 Cc petrol engine. “Later on consider exporting the Eon to markets in South America and South Africa but the present focus is on the Indian market.”
